Kamlager-Dove Votes “No” on DHS Appropriations Bill

January 22, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) released the statement below after voting “no” on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations bill:

“Our tax dollars should never be used to terrorize our communities. As long as Kristi Noem and her militarized, trigger-happy agents continue to operate without oversight or accountability, I will not support another penny for DHS.

“Republicans already handed Kristi Noem and DHS $191 billion—including $75 billion for ICE alone—in the Big Ugly Bill. They gutted our health care to bankroll their un-American and anti-immigrant agenda. And what have they done with our tax dollars? Killed U.S. citizen Renée Good and disappeared my constituent Vicente Ventura Aguilar, wasted $220 million on a frivolous photo op for ICE Barbie, and continued to trample our most basic freedoms. No more blank checks for this rogue agency.”
