Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove sits on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, which conducts oversight and authorizes programs for the State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, the Commerce Department’s International Trade Association, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and the Peace Corps. Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove serves on the following subcommittees:

Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove serves on the Committee on the Judiciary, which is at the forefront of some of the most significant issues facing our nation, including protecting Constitutional freedoms and civil liberties, oversight of the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, legal and regulatory reform, innovation, competition and anti-trust laws, terrorism and crime, and immigration reform. Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove serves on the following subcommittees:

 

Caucuses:

Congressional Black Caucus(link is external)

Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove currently serves as Whip for the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). The CBC was founded in 1971 to address the needs of African Americans and other marginalized communities. The Caucus supports several policies including, but not limited to, the criminal justice system, voter suppression, education, and worker protections. This Congress, the caucus has 62 members—the largest in its history.  

 

Democratic Women’s Caucus(link is external)  

Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove serves as a Policy Co-Chair for the Democratic Women’s Caucus—a powerful coalition that ensures women’s voices are heard in the halls of Congress. The Democratic Women’s Caucus is leading the fight to protect women’s reproductive rights, ensure affordable healthcare for women, build an economy that works for women, combat violence against women, ensure quality education for women, and finally guarantee gender equality in our Constitution. Additionally, Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove leads the DWC's line of effort on international women's issues. 

 

Caucus on Foster Youth(link is external)  

Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove co-chairs the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth, which provides a forum for Members of Congress to discuss and develop policy recommendations to strengthen the child welfare system and improve the overall well-being of youth and families. Over 30,000 foster youth reside in Los Angeles County, and Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove is committed to ensuring that our nation's vulnerable, yet resilient, youth are provided with the opportunities and support necessary to succeed.  

 

Brazil Caucus 

Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove serves as the Co-Chair of the Congressional Brazil Caucus alongside Rep. Lance Gooden. The Caucus serves as the enduring Congressional partner for U.S.-Brazil ties and seeks to strengthen bipartisan support for the bilateral relationship. 

 

Congressional Progressive Caucus(link is external)  

The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is comprised of nearly 100 House Members who support transformative change and progressive ideals. The Caucus has led efforts to mend our healthcare system, raise the minimum wage, strengthen worker protections, and stop climate change.
