WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) announced the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for students in California’s 37th District. The Congressional Art Competition allows high school students to submit their original pieces for a chance to have their artwork displayed in the Capitol for a year. This year’s winner is 11th grader Haifa Maung of Culver City for her mixed-media piece, “Alienation.” Her piece explores the vulnerability of the human spirit and speaks to tones of struggle, strength, and tenacity.
