Kamlager-Dove Secures $210k in Grants for CA-37 from the National Endowment for the Arts
LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) announced $210,000 in National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grants for seven arts organizations across California’s 37th Congressional District.
“After beginning my career at a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the arts in Los Angeles, I made supporting the arts an integral part of my policy agenda,” said Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove. “Now, as a proud representative of Los Angeles in Congress, I am honored to be able to deliver this funding to the artists, actors, dancers, writers, and poets who light up and inspire our city every day. I look forward to seeing how these projects bring our community together through our shared love and appreciation for the arts.”
The Grants for Arts Projects have been awarded as follows:
- $15,000 to Actors' Gang, Inc. to support the Free Shakespeare-in-the-Park Series for Families, a program that presents adaptations of Shakespeare's plays for intergenerational audiences.
- $30,000 to the Dance Resource Center of Greater Los Angeles to support a studio rental program.
- $40,000 to the HeArt Project to support staff salaries for a creative career skills training program for youth.
- $15,000 to Muae Publishing, Inc. to support activities focused on cultivating a network of Asian Pacific American publishing professionals.
- $40,000 to Piece by Piece to support a visiting artist series that provides training in the mosaic arts for individuals from underserved Los Angeles communities.
- $40,000 to Street Poets, Inc. to support poetry writing workshops for local youth.
- $30,000 to Teapot Gardens to support a series of cultural events and artists' residencies in low-income neighborhoods.
This funding was made possible through the National Endowment for the Arts’ Grants for Arts Projects, which provides expansive funding opportunities to strengthen the nation’s arts and cultural ecosystem.
