Kamlager-Dove Statement on Shooting at Trump Campaign Event

LOS ANGELES, CA — Tonight, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) released the following statement on the shooting at former President Trump's campaign event:

For 248 years, our democracy—while imperfect—has persevered due to mutual respect for all Americans engaging in the democratic process. Political violence in any form breaks that trust and must be resoundingly rejected.

I thank the Secret Service and law enforcement for their swift response to today's events. I am praying for former President Trump and all those impacted by this horrific shooting—and our democracy.
