WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) issued the following statement on the tentative agreement reached between Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), ending a 118-day strike:

“After a nearly four month-long strike, SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP have reached a tentative agreement to ensure fair pay and better benefits and to allow SAG-AFTRA members to build even stronger careers as we look ahead to the future of the entertainment industry. This strike has had a massive impact on Los Angeles, which employs tens of thousands of entertainers and serves as the heartbeat of the talent industry.

“I look forward to the actors and studios finalizing this agreement so that we can get our local economy back on track and our entertainers can return to the work they love for the millions of people who admire it.”
