Kamlager-Dove Statement on Voting Against the Republican Rip-Off Budget

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) released the following statement after voting against House Republicans’ budget bill: 

“I voted hell no on the Republican Rip-Off budget because I refuse to be complicit in Donald Trump and House Republicans' attempts to steal from my constituents. Hell no to raising health care premiums by $2,020 a year; hell no on ripping food assistance away from 40 million Americans; and hell no on giving $4.5 trillion in tax cuts to the Billionaire Boys Club.

“At a time when federal workers are being fired left and right, eggs are $15 at the store, and planes are literally falling from the sky, it is unconscionable that Trump, Elon, and Republicans are actively making life even harder for working families. 

“Every American should remember whether their congressperson voted to take away their health care, food assistance, and more. If this budget becomes law, people will die– and every spineless Republican who supported this sham will have to answer for why they chose loyalty to Trump over loyalty to those they serve.”
