Kamlager-Dove Votes to Pass the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) voted alongside House Democrats to pass the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, which would fund the federal government through the end of the 2024 fiscal year.
“After months of the GOP’s political games, I was proud to finally deliver for everyday Americans by voting to fund our government for the rest of the fiscal year,” said Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove. “Democrats fought hard to ensure that this legislation invests in American families, protects reproductive rights, and addresses global challenges—all while rejecting Republican poison pills.”
“This legislation will put money back in the pockets of hardworking Americans by lowering the cost of living, reducing drug costs, and expanding child care and early childhood education options through a historic $1 billion funding increase for child care programs and Head Start. While Republicans attempted to eliminate the Job Corps and fire 224,000 teachers, Democrats rejected these attacks on the economy and took steps to continue building an economy for all.”
“Democrats also defeated Republicans’ cynical attempts to restrict women’s reproductive rights through a budget bill, blocking 10 Republican anti-choice riders and preserving the Department of Defense’s travel policy to ensure servicemembers and their families can access reproductive healthcare,” continued Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove.
“With this package, we reaffirmed our commitments to addressing global issues like climate change, gender equity, and global health. This legislation authorizes an additional $1 billion to bolster climate resilience, $650 million to uplift women around the world, and $10 billion to support the health of families and communities across the globe.”
“This package reflects President Biden and Democrats’ vision to move the country—and the world—forward. I look forward to the Senate and President Biden swiftly passing and signing this bill into law,” Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove concluded.
This package includes the following funding bills: Defense; Financial Services and General Government; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

A package containing six other appropriations bills for fiscal year 2024 passed the House earlier this month and was signed into law by President Biden on March 9.
