Readout: Ranking Member Kamlager-Dove Meets with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan During C5 + 1 Summit

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) met with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan during the C5 + 1 Summit. Rep. Kamlager-Dove and President Tokayev discussed the importance of efforts to repeal the Jackson-Vanik amendment, ensure continued accreditation of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, safeguard U.S. AI technologies, and protect Afghan women and girls. Rep. Kamlager-Dove applauded President Tokayev for Kazakhstan’s robust peacekeeping contributions and meaningful efforts to enforce sanctions on Russia.

Rep. Kamlager-Dove expressed that she looks forward to working together to further enhance people-to-people ties and educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
