Last week, at the South LA Mental Health Block Party hosted at South LA Cafe, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove presented the South Los Angeles Community (SLAC) Foundation with an $850,000 check for the South LA Community Resilience Center project.

The South LA Community Resilience Center Project is one of 15 community projects that Representative Kamlager-Dove secured a total of $12.4 million for through FY24 government funding legislation.

The Democratic lawmakers at Thursday’s news conference outside the U.S. Capitol included Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and Sens. Ed Markey of Massachusetts and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island; House Assistant Minority Leader Joe Neguse of Colorado; and Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Nanette Barragán and Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, both of California.
