Kamlager-Dove's question about Noem and Lewandowski's relationship came during hours of testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on March 4.
The final straw followed an uncomfortable exchange during Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing, in which Noem was asked point-blank if she had ever slept with Lewandowski, who works as a special government employee.
“Have you had sexual relations with Corey Lewandowski?” Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.) asked Noem, who batted the question away as “tabloid garbage.”
When pressed further by California Democrat lawmaker Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Noem doubled down, saying “You say conservative women are stupid or sluts. I am neither.”
Then, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, a Democrat from California, introduced a new line of questioning: “At any time during your tenure as director of Department of Homeland Security have you had sexual relations with Corey Lewandowski?”

“I look out in this room and I see power,” said Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, urging the gathering to recognize the enduring role of faith institutions. “The role of the Black church has been essential. It might look a little different now, but it is still potent… I'm asking you to harness your power collectively.”
So as the DHS secretary testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove came out and asked the question on everyone’s mind.
“So, Secretary Noem,” she said, “At any time during your tenure as director of Department of Homeland Security have you had sexual relations with Corey Lewandowski?”
