Sydney Kamlager-Dove, D-Calif., warned any retaliation in terms of wildfire funding by the administration would be “short-sighted.”

At a Friday press conference Bass was joined by a battery of outraged politicians, among them U.S. Reps Sydney Kamlager-Dove and Judy Chu, and state Senate President Mike McGuire. In a weekend video, District 11 Councilmember Traci Park slammed the raids, echoing the point that working people, not criminals, are being targeted. She detailed the fear that exists, even in her Westside territory.

Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.) pointed out that Trump’s DOJ is openly planning on politicizing FACE to support their own antiabortion goals. In January of this year, Trump pardoned 23 known antiabortion extremists, who were in prison for invading and blockading clinics and violently injuring providers and clinic staff. At the same time, the DOJ ordered prosecutors to stop enforcing the FACE Act in abortion cases except under “extraordinary circumstances,” essentially opening the door for extremists to continue harassing abortion clinics with impunity.
