WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) joined House Democrats in introducing the Taxpayer Data Protection Act in response to Elon Musk’s shameful invasion of Americans’ privacy. This legislation would prevent people who have conflicts of interest or lack a security clearance from accessing the Treasury Department’s highly sensitive payment system, which distributes nearly $6 trillion in federal funding annually, including Social Security and Medicare benefits.
