La congresista Sydney Kamlager-Dove (Distrito 37 de California), en compañía de Adrianne Todman, secretaria interina del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos (HUD) entregaron los cheques simbólicos: $1 millón para la Fundación Amistad,  para renovar las instalaciones de reingreso residencial ubicadas al sur de la calle Grand, y aumentar la capacidad de atención para los 184 residentes actuales.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman presented two checks totaling $1.6 million to Amity Foundation and Court-Appointed Special Advocates of Los Angeles (CASA/LA), two organizations in the district working to support youth and adults in the child welfare and justice systems.

“With a focus on creating permanent supportive housing and economic opportunity for youth ages 18-30, Butterfly’s Haven has transformed the lives of 75 Angelenos and counting who are on the brink of becoming all they are meant to be,” said Kamlager-Dove. “I am thrilled to have secured this funding for Butterfly’s Haven’s Youth Housing Project, which will provide more young people with a safe place to call home, heal, and grow into the best versions of themselves.”
